COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVER

The Regional Career & Technical Center has partnered with PA Pride, LLC to provide commercial truck driver training in Erie County. PA Pride, LLC has delivered quality commercial truck driver training in Northwest Pennsylvania for several years and works with career and technical centers across the region. Four training programs are available.

Commercial Driver's License--Class A, Air Brakes, Doubles, Triples, Tankers, Hazmat and Safety in the Oil and Gas Industry

Tuition: $7,500
Other Fees: $275 (Permit & Endorsements $145 and DOT Physical $75, DOT Drug Test $55)

Entrance Requirements: Individual must be at least 18 years of age, have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record, pass a DOT physical and DOT drug screen.

Program Information

The objective of this program is to prepare the individual to acquire their Class A CDL in the state of PA, with their airbrakes, doubles/triples, tankers, and hazmat endorsements. This course includes additional training in safety for the Oil and Gas Industry.

The program will have a focus on over-the-road driving that will include industry awareness and DOT safety/regulations. Each individual will receive 80 hours of classroom training to include knowledge about air brakes, doubles/triples, tankers, and hazmat endorsements, 40 hours of safety in the Oil and Gas Industry and 160 hours of road and range driving. Upon completion of the program, each individual will have received the knowledge and skills required to pass the DOT written exam and tactile test to receive their Class A CDL, with air brakes, tankers, doubles/triples, and hazmat endorsements.

The program will provide individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to gain employment with national, regional, and local companies. Each student is responsible to cover the cost of permits, endorsements, DOT physicals and DOT drug screens.

At the completion of the program, students will be provided the assistance needed to take the license examination.

Program Information

Each individual will receive 40 hours of classroom training to prepare them to take their Class A permit test with air brakes and 160 hours of road and range driving. Upon completion of the program, each individual will have received the knowledge and skills required to pass the DOT written exam and tactile test to receive their Class A CDL, with air brakes.

The program will provide individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to gain employment with national, regional, and local companies. Each student is responsible to cover the cost of permits, endorsements, DOT physicals and DOT drug screens.

At the completion of the program, students will be provided the assistance needed to take the license examination.

This course is designed for the individual that already possesses a Class A permit or Class A CDL license, but needs 'road time' in order to refresh skills or acquire employment. The objective of this program is to familiarize the individual with their airbrakes.

The program will have a focus on over-the-road driving that will include industry awareness and DOT safety/regulations. Each individual will receive 160 hours of road and range driving. Upon completion of the program, each individual will have received the knowledge and skills required to make application for employment.

The program will provide individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to gain employment with national, regional, and local companies. Each student is responsible to cover the cost of DOT physicals and DOT drug screens.
