Visual Emissions Inspector Test - RECERT

If you fail the recertification exam two times, you can purchase a remedial training and exam package.

Visual Emissions Inspector Test - INITIAL

This course covers all aspects of the Pennsylvania emissions inspection program.  The new test consists of 40 questions and you will have one hour to complete the online test. Successful completers earn certification as "PA Certified Emissions Inspector."  

1.  Click on the “Register” button below to register and pay the $15 RCTC Test Proctoring Fee.  Although the new test is an online test, it must be proctored in the RCTC Office. 

2.   Call the RCTC Office (464-8601) to provide your Driver License number and an approximate test date; we must have this information to roster you online with PennDOT.  Once we have rostered you, and you perform step three, you will have access to the study materials.  

3.   Go to www.patrainingportal.com to register and pay for study materials and exam access.

This test is only for those who have previously taken the visual emissions Initial Certification test and failed. Successful completers earn certification as "PA Certified Emissions Inspector."

2.  Call RCTC at 464-8601 to let us know that you have registered for a retest.  (RCTC needs this information to enter roster information on the PennDOT website.)

3.  Click the “Register” button below to register and pay for test proctoring services at RCTC.
